World music, literally. This Congolese-Belgian band’s African beat finds spin from European jazz and American soul sounds. Their music echoes delta blues and evolves almost undetected through R’n’B to hip hop.
Antti Hynninen and Sara Sayed’s Rime open the night with their fresh soul-music and strong electro beat combo.

Huvila Festival Tent
Important! Please dress appropriately. The tent is not fully wind proof and may be draughty.
The Huvila Festival Tent is Helsinki Festival’s very own events venue. Designed by the architect Roy Mänttäri, it is a unique cross between a conventional concert hall and a marquee. To get there, take any bus, tram or metro stopping at Hakaniemen tori (Hakaniemi market). Alternatively, it is about a ten-minute walk from the city centre. The tent is located at Eläintarhantie in Tokoinranta at Hakaniemi throughout the festival run.
Artistically ambitious, utterly unique and consistently forward thinking, the annual Huvila programme has become an integral part of the Helsinki music scene. The venue hosts around twenty events every year, ranging from intimate concerts to edgy club nights. For some events, a dance floor is available in front of the stage. The performers’ latest releases are available to buy at the Huvila record shop.
Adjoining the venue is an atmospheric restaurant. The restaurant is open before and after shows and also serves customers during intermission. The restaurant, run by Tapahtumat M.A.T., has an extensive menu and is fully licensed. Ticketholders can book a table and choose food and refreshments in advance. Enquiries: email@example.com, tel: 045 110 1588, http://www.mat.st/englishFi.html. The restaurant closes no later than midnight.
The venue box office and restaurant open at 18:00. There is a 30-minute intermission between supporting acts and headliners. August nights in Helsinki may be chilly, so please ensure that you are dressed appropriately.
Unless otherwise stated, the Huvila Festival Tent is an over-18s venue. Younger visitors can be admitted only when accompanied by a parent or guardian.
The performances start at 19:00 and finish no later than 22:00 Sunday to Thursday and no later than 22:30 Friday and Saturday.
Disabled parking: Disabled parking is available, however, please contact us in advance to make arrangements.
Disabled access: Ramped access at main entrance. Box office fully accessible.
